About Electric Sweats
Olympia’s own Electric Sweats has been setting the alternative hardcore scene ablaze with a powerful blend of down-tuned alternative metal and punk rock. The project began in 2022 when founder Matt Woslum transformed a one-off electronic set into a full-band endeavor, debuting at McCoy’s Cavern and quickly evolving into a prominent force in the Pacific Northwest. Their 2022 release, The Grey, gained them comparisons to bands like Helmet, Failure, and Bad Religion and drew praise from local photographer Andrew Repcik, who remarked, “I really think y’all are going to be the band that makes waves out of the local scene!”
Building on this momentum, Electric Sweats released Sad Songs to Cry-Fight to in 2023, recorded with Seattle’s legendary Jack Endino, and followed it up with a successful West Coast tour. The band’s raw, heavy sound and gripping performances have since become their signature. Now, Electric Sweats (Matt Woslum | 7-string guitar and vox, Cody Lenz | drums, and Lee Michael | 5-string bass) is working on their latest album, which has been recorded and is currently in the final stages of mixing and mastering (Olympia Sound), and distribution. With plans for a European tour in 2025 and a new release on the way, Electric Sweats is poised to bring their intense, emotionally charged sound to an even wider audience.
